JOURNEY TO THE DIVINE
Seeking a pilgrimage that transcends the ordinary? The Kailash Manasarovar Yatra offers a transformative journey revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers.
Nestled in Tibet’s remote landscape, Mount Kailash stands as the mystical abode of Lord Shiva, while the tranquil Lake Manasarovar promises spiritual liberation to those who immerse themselves in its pure waters.
Religious significance of Mount Kailash
Hinduism
Believed to be the residence of Lord Shiva and Parvati, Mount Kailash is considered the center of the universe. Taking part in the Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation) is believed to cleanse past sins and lead to salvation.
Buddhism
Tibetan Buddhists see Kailash as the sacred Kang Rinpoche (Precious Jewel of Snow), the home of Buddha Demchok. The lake is associated with meditation and enlightenment.
Jainism
In Jainism, Mount Kailash, known as Ashtapada, holds great religious significance as the site where Rishabhadeva (Adinath), the first Tirthankara, attained moksha (liberation)
Tibetian Bon
Followers of the ancient Tibetan Bon tradition believe Kailash to be the seat of their founder, Tonpa Shenrab, and perform a counter-clockwise Parikrama around the mountain.
